What is MOSES and how do I open it?

  • With MOSES you create the timetables.
  • For scheduling, MOSES requires master data such as courses/curricula, instructors, rooms – this data comes from JOANNEUM|online and can be viewed, but not changed, via MOSES.
  • When planning timetables, many conditions are automatically taken into account by MOSES:
    • Curricular: Curricula and interrelationships of degree programs, e.g., division of degree program into groups.
    • Spatial: on the basis of criteria such as the number of places and room equipment.
    • Temporal:
      • Availability of the teachers
      • Blocking times for e.g. courses or study programs
      • Travel times between event locations, e.g. when changing campuses
    • The conditions will also be taken into account in case of schedule changes during the semester.
  • With various evaluations you can identify conflicts in the timetable
    • Curricular conflicts (e.g., course scheduling conflicts of the same student group).
    • Space conflicts
    • Travel time conflicts
