How can I enter course descriptions?

Teaching staff and affiliated lecturers can only edit those courses in JOANNEUM|online in which they are registered as lecturers. The information on the courses can be viewed by students (internal) and prospective students (external).

To enter various information about a course, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the My Courses application.



  2. A list of all courses to which you are assigned opens.



  3. Click on the name of the desired course.



  4. A new window opens.



  5. Click on the View (Course – Detailed View) drop-down field and select Edit course.



  6. A new window opens.



  7. Enter the desired information for the course, e.g. content, previous knowledge expected, recommended reading, etc.
  8. Click on Save.
  9. To enter the German description, click on the Language (English) drop-down field and select German.



  10. Enter the German description.
  11. Click on Speichern.

 

General instructions for entering course descriptions:

  • Lecturers must be created in SAP in advance in order to obtain access in JOANNEUM|online.
  • You can only edit courses where you are registered as a lecturer.
  • The texts should be as short as possible. There is a character limit for entering the content.
  • If more comprehensive descriptions are necessary or if examples should be shown, you can also upload PDF documents, for example. To do this, proceed as follows:

 

  1. Click on the pencil icon.



  2. During the upload, you can specify who should have access to the file, e.g. anonymously accessible, accessible only for identified persons or students with an examination or registration for the course/examination.
